Fill the Bus Drive

Each year 3 non-profits are chosen by SunLine Transit Agency to be the recipients of their Fill the Bus Drive. The Community Food Bank @ The Center has once again been chosen to be one of those recipients.

SunLine and The Center invites the community to help fill the bus with non-perishable food items, frozen meats and other assorted trimmings for holiday meals. We also ask residents to donate new packaged toiletries, personal hygiene products, diapers and other household products.

The Center’s bus will be located at the SmokeTree Ralph’s on November 18 from 7am - 7pm.

This is an amazing event which in 2019 provided over 5 tons of food for the Food Bank and left our shelves stocked until early spring. Participating also makes it possible for us to dispense over 200 turkeys that day since it is held on our regular Thursday food distribution day.

We will be putting a call out to volunteers not only for the day of but also the next day (November 19) as we unload the bus and begin our sorting process. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Charles Huff @ charles@thecentercv.org or call 760-417-7790 x 158.
