Emily West Performs with CCHS Jazz Band

Based in Nashville, Tennessee, America’s Got Talent Finalist and Singer Emily West has two scheduled performances at the Mary Pickford Theatre on Friday, October 15th and Saturday, October 16th for a live concert entitled, “An Evening with Emily West.”

To support music education in public schools, Emily West reached out to Cathedral City High School Band Director Matthew Howe to inquire if the Cathedral City High School (CCHS) Jazz Band would like to collaborate on several songs at her performance in Cathedral City.  However, due to scheduling conflicts, the performance with Emily West will take place at CCHS’ Homecoming Parade and Rally on the steps of City Hall in Cathedral City and merely 100 yards from the Mary Pickford Theatre on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at approximately 5:00 pm.  The public is welcome to attend.

“I think Music is a universal language.  Music education is so important because it connects people.  We need that now more than ever, especially in these uncertain times. When we can’t find the words, there is music. And creating music with these students is going to be such a special moment.”
