  • Writer Andre Aciman is the author, among other things, of 5 novels, including Call Me By Your Name, winner of the 2007 Lambda Literary Award for Gay Fiction, and the source for director Luca Guadagnino's prize-winning 2017 screen adaptation—as well as a more recently published sequel, Find Me.
  • In this live Zoom event, Professor Franco Mormando, a distinguished scholar of Italian culture and gay studies and professor at Boston College (and a colleague of Aciman's at graduate school at Harvard) will interview Aciman about LGBTQ themes in his work, both in these 2 gay-themed novels and elsewhere.

  • André Aciman is a Distinguished Professor of Comparative Literature at CUNY Graduate Center and the author of 12 books, including several books of essays, the memoir Out of Egypt (winner of the 1995 Whiting Award), and five novels, including Call Me By Your Name, winner of the 2007 Lambda Literary Award for Gay Fiction.
  • Moderator Bio
  • Franco Mormando is a Professor of Italian Literature at Boston College. He is the author of 2 books on the artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini, as well as many interdisciplinary articles on Italian literature and history, and he has curated several museum exhibits on Italian art.
