- The Journey of Intersectionality and Authenticity: Navigating Our Intersectional Identities with Gamal J Palmer and Emil Wilbekin
- Have you worked hard to own your truth? How do you navigate a world that only sees black and white? How do you live your life authentically? Let’s push past issues of racism, bias, and prejudice to understand our differences as humans and thrive through listening, understanding, and allowance.
- Join us for this interactive discussion and special conversation with Global Diversity and Inclusion Specialist Gamal J. Palmer and Native Son Founder Emil Wilbekin. This Town Hall-style conversation will be a combination of breakout room discussions, story sharing, and Q+A.
- Through the sharing of stories and anecdotes, Gamal and Emil will encourage members of Black, gay and allied communities to think critically about our intersectional identities such as race, sexual orientation, religion, gender, etc. and how to be gentler with ourselves and others, to achieve cultivating an environment that is truly safe and inclusive.
- As a Gay, Black, Jewish male coming from a multiracial family, Gamal has overcome many obstacles. This has led him to be deeply involved in racial justice and LGBTQIA rights both domestically and abroad. As a Black, Gay, HIV+ man, Wilbekin has also navigated the worlds of media and LGBTQI+ advocacy and philanthropy to shift hearts, minds, and culture globally.
