Event Details

Author David Wallace shares his memory of living with his extended family in what became the “summer White House” in Independence, Missouri. A fascinating look behind the scenes of the Truman-Wallace family dynamics and the power of politics.

Wallace teaches Creative Writing at Mizell and has helped numerous students get their works published. He is a nationally published author of nine non-fiction books, three novels, and co-author of several additional books. His work has been called “inspired” by The New York Times.

I Called Him Uncle Harry will be available for purchase at the event with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Mizell Center. The event is free to attend, but you must show proof of vaccination at the door and wear a mask while in the facility.
