Event Details
The 14th annual Spring Fling and Silent Auction fundraiser benefiting Bloom in the Desert Ministries UCC will take place on March 10, 2023, at the Palm Springs Pavilion starting at 5:30 pm.
Under the 2023 theme, “Bending the Arc: Embracing our Core Values,” custom designed and
installed décor by Anthos Design will transform the Pavilion into a festive bazaar featuring
international foods, music, the awards, raffles, and shopping. The entertainment headliner is the DC6 Singers Collective, an LA-based vocal a Capella ensemble singing dynamic and energetic gospel and Motown tunes. Emcee Darci Daniels will host the evening including Strong Words story tellers, DJ Tina Turntables, Too Tall Tomm on stilts, the silent auction, festival booths hosting various justice ministries, and food from four local vendors. For more information about Bloom and this event is at bloominthedesert.org.
Bloom's Community Justice Award Recipients for 2023 are Mily Treviño-Sauceda, the Executive Director and Co-founder of Alianza Nacional de Campesinas (National Association of Farmworker Women) and Brothers of the Desert a non-profit organization, which provides a growing network of support for Black gay men and allies in the Coachella Valley.
Differing from past Flings, the event will be more interactive, encouraging attendees to mix and mingle as they stroll the event space and encounter "tents" dedicated to food, drink, auction items, information about Bloom, and a town square for entertainment.
Funds from this event support Bloom’s work in the community as a not-for-profit, religious institution dedicated to inclusion and justice striving to be a safe and nurturing space, “welcoming all who welcome all.” Bloom’s commitment to Social Action and Mission work in the Coachella Valley is reflected in its outreach programs.
Tickets are $95.00.
