Drawing a young crowd that likes to tip back English ales and ciders, this bar is lively and popular.
Hair of the Dog English Pub may have served its final downtown pint, but it hasn’t barked for the last time.
The popular downtown Palm Springs dive bar will reopen Oct. 1 in a new – and much larger – space at 555 S. Palm Canyon Drive, with a more elevated vibe, owner Larry Bitonti said.
“As Palm Springs has gone from a village to a more sophisticated town, we’ll turn into a sports bar. We’ll grow up,” he said.
The 7,200-square-foot space at the corner of Palm Canyon Drive and Camino Parocela will boast about 5,000 square feet of space for patrons, including a 32-foot-long bar, a game room with pinball, darts and pool tables and a wall with a Hair of the Dog mural so Instagram users can get their much-coveted selfies.
